In case you missed the announcement Dandelion is being retired from the Box of 24 colors. Check your boxes  – Now!

Dandelion — that bright yellow hue — is the crayon retiring to the Crayola Hall of Fame, calling the color “an adventurous spirit” with “a case of wanderlust.”

It was introduced in 1990, after the Crayola Hall of Fame inducted its first eight members.Eight colors were  — Maize, Lemon Yellow, Blue Gray, Raw Umber, Green Blue, Orange Red, Orange Yellow and Violet Blue — were retired in 1990.

It’s Replacement  a shade of blue – to be named this summer. With a contest to name the color.
