No this is not a political message – this is a post about the South’s love of Football and they way Louisiana celebrates it- with food,fun and family.

Even though the Heat is still here – the fans are packing the stadiums around here.Louisiana loves its football so Turn the Lights on -its time for Football !

Friday night -High School

Saturday –  LSU  Tigers (SEC)   & U of Louisiana ( Raging Cajuns)

Sunday  New Orleans  Saints    Black & Gold    Check out the YOUTUBE video below –

  • Monday Recipe-       Black-Eyed Peas & Corn Relish

1 cup chopped onion

2 cups frozen Shoe Peg corn /thawed

2 cups frozen Black Eyed Peas /thawed

1 cup chopped peeled tomatoe

1/2 cup each – red and green bell pepper

2 tablespoon chopped garlic

2 tablespoon -oil

Season to taste.

In a sauce pan saute onion till soft add bell peppers and cook about 5 minutes. Add other items and cook  another 5 minutes. Place in bowl and Serve with chips.   Lisa
