Today I am sharing this recipe -every family makes it & have a recipe -every chef has one on there menu but here;s a classic:
Bread Pudding with Whiskey Sauce
- 2 cups stale bread Cubes( french is best )
- 4 C milk /Scaled
- 3/4 C sugar
- 1 Tablespoon butter
- 1/4 teasp salt
- 4 eggs /slightly beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 C pecans (optional)
Pudding : Soak bread in milk (5 minutes) Add the rest of ingredients -Mix well. Pour into baking dish -Place that dish into a pan of water. Bake at 350 for 1 hour.
Sauce:
- 1/2 C sugar
- 1/4C water
- 2 Tablespoon of butter
- 2 jiggers of whiskey
Cook first 3 ingredients until dissolved. Remove from stove add Whiskey . Place over bread pudding -best served warm.
