Beer just not for Drinking *

No ! It’s for making Bread too –

. We stop at a local shop and my hubby bought some local brewed wheat bear . And I said I can make bread out of that. So Today that’s whats today recipe is : Independence Parish Brewing parish beer Cane Break beer Bread. This recipe is a great basic recipe that can be changed up by changing beer, flour or add on ( fruit ,cheese or nuts) . Let your imagination go wild as you walk the aisles. The stores are filled with local beers that can be turned into bread .


Cane break Beer Bread with Cran Raisins :

  • 1 1⁄8 cups beer (let come to room temperature)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 1⁄2cups bread flour
  • 1⁄4 cup sugar ( I am using cane)
  • 3⁄4 teaspoon salt
  • Cran raisins ( 1/2 C) hand full
  • 1 3⁄4 teaspoons bread machine yeast

I added the Cran Raisin to the bread dough because I used wheat beer and this brand was on the sweet side. The tartness of the berries will cut the sweetness.

Put in your bread machine following your machines recommended directions, Mine is set at Basic (1) & for 2 lb loaf – which is about 31/2 hours . I will post pictures when done.

Looking down the aisles I am making plans : Blue Moon & Citrus , All the fruit add beer will make great seasonal bread . The list goes on- Yum!! Looking forward to trying them all. Lisa
