As January ends today – I am thinking about the goals I made the first of the month. One was more exercise and eating more healthy – here something to help:
Since its publication over 15 years ago, 500 Low-Carb Recipes has become a classic in the low-carb community, earning author Dana Carpender the affectionate moniker “low-carb queen” from her fans. The book is now a bestseller, with over half a million copies sold.
Low-carb cooking has evolved. A decade ago, low-carb menus relied on ingredients like artificial sweeteners, unhealthy vegetable oils, protein additives, and processed foods from grocery store shelves, like low-carb branded snack bars and packaged meals. Today’s low-carb cooking is influenced by larger food movements, such as clean eating; farm-to-table ingredients; higher fat ratios, thanks to the popularity of ketogenic diets; and less stigmatization of foods that have substantial inclusion in a low-carb diet, namely animal foods and saturated fat due to the growth of the Paleo and traditional foods movements. The New 500 Low-Carb Recipes is the beloved cookbook updated for today’s low-carb movement.
About the Author

To date, her books have sold over a million copies worldwide. She writes about low-carb cooking and nutrition on her Facebook page, Dana Carpender’s Hold the Toast Press.

skinned, cigar-smoking babysitter to guide him.
Is it too late to quit?

January is almost over – how have your New Year goals are going. One of mine was to re learn a new craft/Hobby that I had not done in a while. And crocheting is one I haven’t done in ages. Let’s start with a basic granny square – something I learned to do as a teenagers :
Directions : These are just the basic but if you google Granny Squares you will find You Tube and patterns online.
Make a slip knot ch 4, join in furthest ch from hook to form a ring. Center circle Chain (ch) 2. Crochet 2 double crochet (dc) into the center of the ring, ch 1, *3 dc, ch 1* (repeat 2 more times). Connect to first dc (not top of the chain) with a slip stitch,
Round 2: Ch 2, turn. 2 dc into space below ch, ch 1, 3 dc into space. This will make your first of four corners. Below next chain (in the gap between the 3 dc clusters) crochet *3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc* (repeat 2 more times, for a total of four corners). Connect to the first dc with a sl st.
Round 3: Ch 2, turn. 2 dc into space below ch. In the corner space, 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc (for your first corner). *3 dc in the next space, in the corner 3 dc, ch 1, 3dc* repeat 2 more times. Connect to first dc with a sl st.
Round 4: Ch 2, turn. 2 dc into space below ch. In the corner space, 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc (for your first corner). *3 dc in the next 2 spaces, in the corner 3 dc, ch 1, 3dc* repeat 2 more times. 3 dc into the final space. Connect to first dc with a sl st.
You can make as may rows as you want and make the square solid color or each row connect another color of yarn to the square. Lisa

Sunday’s book is wonderful book to read or give. :
When Guilt Wages War, Fight for Grace
Christian women repeatedly fall into the trap of self-condemnation. They choose to berate themselves in their weakness rather than fight through their pride to receive the strength only God can provide.
Cheryl Brodersen, ministry leader and popular speaker, knows it’s time for women to understand the daily battle they’re facing—to pinpoint their enemies, claim their God-given weapons, and examine the true prize awaiting them. God wants His daughters to live moment by moment in His victory, but first they have to see what’s at stake when they go their own way.
The truth about grace is simpler—and deeper—than you may realize. Discover how this life-saving, life-sustaining resource can be your motivation and means for living in freedom today.
Net galley book Review :
I enjoyed this book about the true meaning of Grace. With real life testimonies and ways to have grace through all things. Grace is freely given even though we might not deserve it but we should not fight it but receive it with joy and let it strength us in our daily lives.
This book may have some triggers for some with real life stories : but its still a wonderful book to read and discuss with others. . Let’s make Grace part of your life,
