Berry Picking : Blackberry Cobbler

Today in GG Kitchen – I am making some old fashion blackberry cobbler with some fresh picked berries. So Enjoy this Sunday’s recipe from my Home Kitchen. Checking an item off my Sunday Bucket list.

Ingredients
4 (6 ounces) containers fresh blackberries
½ teaspoon cinnamon
1¼ cups sugar, divided
½ cup (1 stick) salted butter
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preheat the oven to 350 F.
In a large bowl, toss the blackberries with cinnamon and ¼ cup of sugar, then set aside.
Place the butter in a 9×13-inch baking dish, then put the dish in the oven for 3 to 5 minutes, being careful not to let the butter brown.
In another large bowl, whisk together the remaining 1 cup of sugar, the flour, the baking powder, and the salt.
Whisk in the milk and vanilla until there are no lumps.
Pour the flour mixture evenly over the melted butter, but do not stir. Scatter the blackberries on top.
Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the cobbler is golden brown on the edges.
Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
