Good Morning ! It’s Saturday and I am in the Garden . Today Let’s me introduce you to Rosemary . No not my Aunt Rosemary married to Uncle Bill but the plant in my Garden. I keep a large plant at my front door to use year round in recipes and projects. Mine is a couple yeard old since Louisiana mild winters doesn’t really bother it. Rosemary is a perennial evergreen shrub with blue flowers. It is an aromatic and distinctive herb with a sweet, resinous flavor.Hailing from the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, rosemary does best in warm areas with fair humidity, where it can grow into a shrub several feet in height.
HOOSING AND PREPARING A PLANTING SITE
- Plant in full sun.
- The planting site should have well-draining soil. Rosemary won’t tolerate being consistently wet.
- Be sure to give your plants enough room to grow. Once established, rosemary can eventually grow to about 4 feet tall and spread about 4 feet as well.
My Summer Use :
- 3 8 oz Mason jars
- 1 lemon, (thickly sliced)
- 1 lime, (thickly sliced)
- 3 sprigs fresh rosemary
- 30 drops each of rosemary, (thyme, eucalyptus, and/or lavender essential oils)
Directions:
- 8 ounce Mason jars.
- Slice some fresh lemons and limes, pick some fresh rosemary, and select some essential oils.
- Begin with a slice or two of lemon or lime in the bottom of the jar, add the rosemary, fill with water, add the essential oils, then top with an extra slice or two of the citrus fruit.
- Finish up by adding a floating candle on top
