- The Baton Rouge Soul Food Festival offers two days of fabulous southern cuisine and non-stop live music. The family friendly event also has a Vendors Village, lots and lots of good food and a judged soul food competition. Local talent expected to date includes the legendary blues, soul, funk and reggae band Henry Turner Jr. & Flavor. Entries and categories for the Soul Food Competition are available on the website. The event is free to the public. Lawn seating. Sat.10am-8pm, Sun.11am-7pm

Hwy. 12 & 109 Shark Mayhaw Festival
Celebrating 26 years, the festival features carnival rides, arts & crafts, live music, delicious Southern food and enough berries and jelly for the whole family. Festival grounds are located at the corners of Highways 109 and 12. Get your fill of biscuits, jelly and home-churned butter on Saturday, beginning at 8:30 a.m., followed by the highlight of the festival, the Mayhaw Jelly Contest at 10 a.m. The live auction will begin at 1 p.m. and live music acts will start at 4 p.m. Admission is free. -

The Louisiana Veterans Festival honors and celebrates the service and sacrifice of all armed service veterans throughout the State of Louisiana. The Louisiana Veterans Festival will bring high level entertainment, food and drinks, kids activities, unique arts and crafts, and a special veterans tribute show. All proceeds will benefit the East St. Tammany Habitat for Humanity’s Veterans Build program.
