Fabric Markers Crafts:
- Fabric markers or paint
- patterns (coloring books or traceable pattern)
- freezer paper
- iron (to set pattern)
Fabric Markers
- Tulip Permanent Nontoxic Fabric Markers.
- Crafts 4 All Fabric Markers Pens
- Crafts 4 All Permanent Fabric Marker Lau
- Also remember fabric markers are meant for fabric so they will glide easier over fabric whereas Sharpies will sometimes jump or skip across the fabric causing breaks in any continuous strokes. Sharpies also tend to bleed through the fabric and will show on the otner side or second layer if fabric is folded
Pillowcase project:
Using fabric markers, draw on the side of the pillowcase that is backed with freezer paper. When you are finished drawing, peel the freezer paper off of the pillowcase. Follow fabric marker directions for setting the drawings. Our markers instructed us to wait 24 hours before washing.
Fabric bags and pouches:
You can find these in white or muslin in most bog stores. Paint and set.
Quilt blocks
Setting fabric markers:
How do you set fabric markers? There are two ways to heat set fabric marker colors. Ask an adult to heat set them by placing your shirt in a clothes dryer set on the hottest setting for 30 minutes, or ask an adult to set an iron on cotton. Cover an ironing board with newspaper and a layer of white paper. A fabric marker contains permanent color (dye, paint or ink) that is designed to not wash out of clothing or fade with washing.
