In most homes and restaurant in Louisiana you will find No meat on the menu. In observant of Lent. But with the abundance of seafood this is also a blessing : So enjoy Friday Lent Special :
Why do we not eat meat on Fridays?Abstaining From Flesh Meat is Considered a Form of Sacrifice to Honor Jesus Christ. The Catholic Church used to forbid parishioners from eating meat every Friday of the year. Why Friday? Because that was the day Jesus Christ is said to have died on the cross in order to atone for the sins of mankind.
On my table : Easy & Quick Shrimp Curry
- 1 1/2 lb of cleaned Shrimp (small)
- 2 Tbs butter
- 1 can condensed cream of shrimp soup
- 1 can condensed mushroom soup
- 3/4 C sour cream
- 1 1/2 tsp Curry powder
- 2 tsp chopped parsley
- White rice,or toast points
Saute Shrimp in butter -add soups and Stir. Stir in the rest of the ingredients until thoroughly blended and heat. Simmer a few minutes and Serve with hot rice or Toast points.
