Sunday Lunch

Welcome to My Sunday Lunch – Today on the menu is fish.

Tilapia (/tˈlɑːpi.ə/ ti-LAH-pee-ə) is the common name for nearly a hundred species of cichlidfish from the tilapiine cichlid tribe. Tilapia are mainly freshwater fish inhabiting shallow streams, ponds, rivers and lakes and less commonly found living in brackish water. You can buy it fresh or frozen .

Tilapia is the fourth most consumed fish in the United States dating back to 2002. The popularity of tilapia came about due to its low price, easy preparation, and its mild taste.

Tilapia is highly valued as a seafood source due to its many beneficial qualities, which are attributed to its wealth of nutrientsvitamins, and minerals, including significant amounts of proteinomega-3 fatty acidsseleniumphosphorous, potassiumvitamin B12niacin, vitamin B6, and pantothenic acid.
