Today’s Bible lesson we are exploring Isaiah 45: 8 . Join me now with some bible journaling and commentary:
“Shower, O heavens, from above,
and clet the clouds rain down righteousness;
let the earth open, that salvation and righteousness may bear fruit;
let the earth cause them both to sprout;
I the Lord have created it.

Commentery :
Drop — namely, the fertilizing rain (Psalm 65:12).
skies — clouds; lower than the “heavens.”
righteousness — that is, the dews of the Holy Spirit, whereby “righteousness” shall “spring up.” (See latter end of the verse).
earth — figuratively for the hearts of men on it, opened for receiving the truth by the Holy Ghost (Acts 16:14).
Drop down dew from above. Some think that a form of prayer is here added, which it was the duty of believers to use while they were waiting for the redemption which is here described; and they connect this verse with the preceding in the following manner, “The Lord will not so speedily deliver you, but still it is your duty to be diligently employed in prayer.”
Today, we pray with others for Rain. As we fight wildfires that have started due to the Heat. Stay safe and hydrated.
