Today starts the College Football season around here ! So before you leave for the Stadium and Tailgating =here a breakfast to get you started:
Angel Biscuits:
- 1 pkg yeast
- 2 T lukewarm Water
- 5 1/2 C Flour
- 1 t Soda
- 3 T baling powder
- 4 T Sugar
- 1 t Salt
- 1 C Shortening
- 2 C buttermilk
In a Cup dissolve yeast in water. In a large bowl Mix dry ingredients cut in shortening ( Mix should look like course meal). Add yeast and buttermilk.Knead and roll dough out (about 1/2 inch) thickness. Cut will cutter and Bake at 400 (12 to 20 minutes)
Dough can be made ahead of time and frozen Lisa
This is interesting! I’ve never heard of using yeast in biscuits.

It makes them a cross between a yeast roll/ and a regular buttermilk biscuit
