Louisiana Strawberry Festival

Welcome to another Monday road trip. Today we are at The Strawberry Festival.

This year’s festival is very special to me – I spent for yours in the area going to college and one of my best friends Mom and Aunt are the festivals Grand Marshall. . I can still remember my first taste of strawberry wine at her kitchen table and stirring the strawberry jam. It;s strawberry time in Louisiana.

Join us for the 48th Annual Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival on April 12-14, 2019 in Memorial Park in historic and beautiful Ponchatoula, Louisiana. The Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival is a FREE family friendly outdoor festival, filled with lots of great food, strawberries, entertainment, and fun for people of all ages to enjoy! With two music stages and food booths supporting local non-profit organizations, the festival grounds are the place to spend the weekend. We look forward to seeing you at the Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival, where we promise you will have a BERRY good time!

Old Fashion Strawberry pie :

Easy Strawberry Pie
  • 1 qt strawberries
  • 1 C sugar
  • 3 T cornstarch
  • 2 T lemon juice
  • 1/4 C water

Hull and clean berries. Place in covered dish with sugar and water- Refrigerate over night. Next day : In a sauce pan cook juice from berries,and cornstarch until thick-let cool and then pour over berries. Place mixture in a prepared pie shell.

Whipping cream topping

  • 1 T powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • whipping cream

  1. I miss this so much. I was looking at photos the other day and saw my son at 3 months old in his stroller with a freshly painted strawberry on his cheek. Have fun!
