Rejoice * 3rd Sunday of Advent

The third Sunday of Advent is Gaudete Sunday and is meant to remind us of the joy that the world experienced at the birth of Jesus, as well as the joy that the faithful have reached the midpoint of Advent.

Gaudete (English: /ˈɡaʊdeɪteɪ/, Ecclesiastical Latin: [gawˈdetɛ]; “rejoice [ye]” in Latin) is a sacred Christmas carol, thought to have been composed in the 16th century.

Rejoice because he is born

Luke 2:10-11 King James Version (KJV)

10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
