Yobe is an educator, entrepreneur and mom who lives in NYC. As an educator, she focused on teaching families to embrace love, diversity and different cultures. Through the years working in the classrooms and closely with other educators, she noticed the lack of multi-cultural resources that represented children of color. That is when Yobe decided to create multicultural children stories that feature Asian children, families and cultures! Yobe loves spending time with her daughter, reading to children and taking long walks during the day!

My Book Review:
Our Luna New Year is an exciting Children Book by Yobi Qiu. Celebrating the Lunar New Year in 5 Asian communities. I was very familiar with Chinese New Year but not about the other Asian communities. And I learned so many new things about the other celebrations reading this book. . But the number lesson i got from the book is its a celebration of -Family and tradition in any community.
So travel with me too these amazing communities and celebrate Lunar New Year.
- Chinese New Year : which my family celebrates. Is a celebration of family -with traditional food and the lighting of firecrackers
- Vietnamese New Year ( Tet) ; is celebrated with family eating traditional food and celebrating with the Lion Dance .
- Korean New Year( Sedllal) ; is named after an animal . And also celebrated with family , food and flying kites
- Thai New Year ( Songkran) : Last three days and celebrates family and faith.
- Indian New Year ( Diwau) The festival of lights that last 5 days. Celebrating family and lighting of lights.
