Happy Labor Day

Today is the first Monday of September and here that means it’s Labor Day. For lots its a 3 Day Holiday -for other it’s another Monday Morning. We are off of school this morning so everyone is sleeping late as Mom is up doing chores. Enjoy – Lisa



Observed on the first Monday in September, Labor Day pays tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers. It was created by the labor movement in the late 19th century and became a federal holiday in 1894. Labor Day also symbolizes the end of summer for many Americans, and is celebrated with parties, parades and athletic events. It’s also the un official last day of Summer as lots of schools wait until after the holiday to resume classes.

It is the largest sales day of the year for some retailers, second only to Black Friday, in the run up to Christmas.

Labor day is considered traditionally as the last day of the year to wear white.

As International Workers Day –

May 1 is also a national holiday in the Russian Federation and Asian countries such as China, Thailand, and Vietnam. The Labor Day holiday, or Labour Day, is celebrated in the United States and countries such as Australia and Canada at different times of the year.
