This Tuesday I am gathered with a few friends to make baskets for our Volunteer Firefighters. They do so much more than fight fires : Install smoke detectors ,community out reach and being in our local parades.
Our Basket are filled with goodies:
What I am making : Soup in a Jar :
- 1/3 cup beef flavor bouillon
- 1/2 cup dried onion
- 1/2 cup green split peas
- 1/2 cup barley
- 1/2 cup yellow split peas
- 1/2 cup alphabet macaroni
- 1/2 cup lentils
- 3/4 cup tri-colored pasta
Layer the ingredients in a quart jar as listed. AAdd a Thank You tag and directions to make the Soup
When making Soup Add
- 12 C Water
- Seasoning
- 1lb ground beef
Make Soup : Brown ground beef, Bring the 12 C of water to Boil an add the jar of dry ingredients. Cover and Simmer until beans are soft.
The Kids are making Thank You cards to add to the baskets !
