Today’s post: Dirty Rice Verses Rice Dressing
* But in some areas are inter changeable.
Here’s The Real Difference:
Same thing not really – Rice dressing is that a dressing made with Rice & ground meat and seasoning.
Dirty Rice uses livers & gizzards as well as meat ( dirt comes from)
Easy Dirty Rice:
- 2 C chicken broth
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 C chopped / lightly cooked livers/gizzard
- 1 C ground meat
- 1 medium chopped onion,bell pepper,celery
- 2 T chopped parsley
- 4 C cooked Rice
- Chopped Green onions for garnish
Make a Roux & Broth,garlic & meat. Cook 20 minutes Add seasoning Cook until soft. Add Cooked Rice -check seasoning add parsley & Cook 10 minutes. Garnish with green onions 
This is just one recipe -most families have there own. In my area I’m lucky that our local grocery store makes a Pre made Mix of the meats for dirty rice. With Pre Cut Trinity it’s an easy quick side dish. Lisa
