National Chocolate Day ! Brownie Mix

Make this Master Mix ( with out shortening)  and put in  jars and include directions. Makes a great hostess gift with recipes using the master mix. 

 

 

Master Mix

  • 4 C Flour
  • 1 T plus 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 T salt
  • 81/2 C Sugar
  • 21/2 C Cocoa
  • 2 C shortening
Combine first 5 ingredients and cut in shortening. Sore in air tight container for up to 6 weeks in cool place.

Easy Brownies using Mix

  • 3  C Brownie Mix
  • 3 Eggs beaten
  • 11/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 C chopped pecans
Mix together and placed in greased 8 by 8 pan. Bake at 350 for 35 to 4o minutes,
* if no shortening in mix add 3/4 C butter to recipe .
