Good Morning everyone ! How is your first Monday in February. Can you believe January is already done. I am taking a Coffee Break and writing my post before I start a pot of Gumbo for Supper. Here’s what’s happening at Home:
Last week family updates

Louisiana is still in Modified Phase 2 but we are doing well. My son sent me the squirrel pictures from school while out walking around. He’s staying safe at college and most of his classes has been on zoom
Home
. My flowers are going crazy with Louisiana weather going from 40 degrees to tomorrows 70’s with rain – typical winter in Louisiana. We are still in the midlle of moving houses a little at a time. I have years of mine and Grandmas’ to clean and mine from the other house to clean and move in. Sunday we went to the cemetery to visit my parents graves- and check on the custom header -because of the rain it hasn’t been layed yet. Hopefully the weather will clear up soon.
February Plans:

This week in Plans :
- Today is Freedom Day
- Candlemas, The Feast of Purification
- Feed the Bird Day
- Stuffed Mushroom Day
- Bubble Gum Day
Bird Food Recipe :

- Crunchy peanut butter
- Bird seed
- Oatmeal
- Shortening
- cornmeal
- Small rope, parchment paper and mason jar lids
Begin by melting the shortening and peanut butter together in a large pot. Once the shortening and peanut butter are melted together you can remove the pot from the heat before adding remaining ingredients. The melted shortening and peanut butter will be soupy but it will thicken once you add oatmeal and cornmeal. Tie rope around the lids ( for hanger) and place on parchment paper and fill with bird seed mixture. Let sit up to firm or place in freezer to firm up. After forming place out side for birds to enjoy.
