Book Description:
Cindi isn’t sure about this holiday called Valentine’s Day, but after her
people pair dress her up like a flamingo and take her for a walk in front of her friends, and her handsome new neighbor dog, Chip, she doesn’t like it at all! She and her BFF, Pitty Pat, have been watching Chip ever since he moved next door. She wants to meet him, but not like this! Have you ever changed your mind about something? In this
outrageously funny story, meet some of Cindi’s fur-friends and find out if she changes her mind about Valentine’s Day.
Cindi’s Chocolate Valentine is an especially SPECIAL book because it features 17 pets that were chosen as winners in the Cindi Features a New Friend contest last summer. As you can imagine, their ‘people families’ are beyond excited about their pets being part of the story. They had over 750 pets, including dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, hedgehogs, and even a chicken, goat, donkey and monkey enter the contest!

Devine Valentine Book ~
I absolutely love my Cindi series, but this book, Cindi’s Chocolate Valentine, has inspired me!
My illustrator and I were just about to submit our Halloween book, Cindi and Sparkles Howl-oween Ghoulfriends, to the publisher. Janine was working on the final illustrations of Cindi and Sparkles winning the Howl-oween contest.
Having just published Cindi’s Christmas Kitten Surprise, we were considering “taking the summer off”. Well, that was short-lived! Out of the blue, Janine says, “We should have a contest!” Without hesitation, I said, “We should have a contest!” Immediately, I was on my computer drafting up the announcement of our Cindi Features a New Friend contest. Before the end of the day, I had posted the contest on my Facebook page. I didn’t even have Instagram at the time. I had no idea how to use the platform!
Fast-forward July 8 – September 1: We had over 750 pets enter the contest, including dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, hedgehogs, and even a chicken, goat, donkey and monkey!
Each day, I poured over the delightful pet photographs and responded to each ‘pet’. Attentively, at the conclusion of registration, my illustrator, myself and our panel of judges narrowed the winners down to 100, 50, 25, 20…reading each introduction…many brought us to laughter ~ some to tears. Unable to choose just one winner, we selected 17!
The book – now released – is absolutely amazing! I’m so thrilled for the winning 17 pets that are featured in the story and their owners! Of course, we provided them with a free copy 🙂
This book not only inspired me to step out of my comfort zone (we even interviewed on a Radio Show), but also to donate 18% of my Cindi series book sale proceeds to animal rescue and shelter organizations!
