Broussard, La
The City of Broussard, Louisiana, boasts a rapidly growing economic climate to match its geographical one. Southern hospitality and charm combine with hot growth opportunities and cutting-edge 21st century technology in the heart of Cajun Country.

Originally named Côte Gelée (Frozen Hills) because of its hilly ridge area and the severe winter of 1784, Broussard was founded in 1884. It was named after Valsin Broussard, a prominent local merchant, who formed the first vigilante committee when his own store was robbed. He was also a direct descendant of Joseph Gaurhept Broussard de Beau Soleil, one of the first 200 Acadians to arrive in Louisiana on February 27, 1765, aboard the Santo Domingo.
Primary agricultural resources include sugarcane, soybean, and hay production as well as horse and cattle farming. Principal industries consist of oil and gas service companies, food distributors, real estate developments, and manufacturing.
Broussard has gone from a horse-and-buggy community, with large sugarcane plantation homes, to a present-day industrial community with more than 1000 businesses. It was designated a city in November 2002; however, one can still experience its charm and culture.
Parish Brewing Company:
Located in the heart of Cajun Country in Broussard, Louisiana, our simple goal is to make awesome craft brewed beer. Our story begins around 2003 when our founder Andrew moved from Louisiana to Pittsburgh and discovered a thriving craft beer scene. Returning home a few years later, he recognized a lack of breweries in Louisiana and set out to create part of what is now a thriving craft brewing industry.
Our philosophy centers around brewing intensely flavored, modern beer of the highest quality—no matter the style. Located in Broussard, Louisiana, we innovate by doing things our own way, and we make awesome beer as a result.
We have 10 year-round beers: Canebrake, Ghost in the Machine, Envie, South Coast, Parish Pilsner, Dr. Juice, Rêve Coffee Stout, and our SIPS Sours. When we have time and capacity, we brew other beers too, like our seasonal Berliners, high gravity double and triple IPAs, and barrel aged strong ales. Our philosophy is to be a strong, profitable business while making intensely flavored, modern beer of the highest quality. We also only believe in brewing products that people want to drink (crazy concept, we know).
