Santa’s Workshop
Make sure to bring your little ones to 163 Antigua where you’ll be greeted by a larger-than-life polar bear. There is also a giant mailbox to drop off their wish lists that will be sent to the North Pole, a photo op with the Grinch and if you’re lucky enough you may get to with Mr. and Mrs. Clause. If driving by, make sure to stop, get out of the car, and enjoy all the details.https://thelafayettemom.com/christmas/where-to-see-holiday-lights-in-acadiana/

lighting of Le Vieux Village :
It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and aren’t we lucky to celebrate the holidays right here in Acadiana! We have a lot of really fun family events coming up, and the official lighting of Le Vieux Village in Opelousas is one of them! This is a free family event to usher in the holiday season, and will take place Friday December 6th from 5:00-8:30 PM with free jambalaya provided by Opelousas Kiwanis Club.
There will be photos with Santa, arts and crafts, pony rides, LIVE reindeer and of course the lighting of the beautiful le Vieux Village! Make plans to bring the entire family out for this festive holiday tradition in Opelousas!

Lighting the Oaks Downtown:
The Walking Ladies of Opelousas are planning another beautiful presentation at Courthouse Square, the Lighting of the Oaks. Visit downtown Opelousas the Saturday after Thanksgiving when they plug in the lights and light up the square. Santa Claus will also be on-site for holiday photos. There will be kid activities and a choral performance by the Our Lady Queen of Angels Church Choir. Attendees can also stroll around the square to view public art and visit food and craft vendors.
The event falls on Small Business Saturday, a day to shop for unique gifts while supporting local, small businesses. After the lighting ceremony, attendees can shop local and find discounts in the area stores and boutiques.
