Sunday’s thoughts
As I sit down to write this I look outside my window and see my hometown.
Melville , Louisiana is like any other small rural town. It grew up around the river- Atchafalaya River and its income came from the same river. As time changed and the river changes so did the town – Today this small river town is like another town- we battle crime, education and jobs.
Melville – part of St. Landry Parish. Surrounded by a ring levee to protect the town from river flooding. Population 1300. Melville is Catfish capital-festival held every October.
