Happy Pralines Day !
If you grew up in the South you have probably had these . You may have a family recipe on how to make them . But today I am sharing a microwave version of the classic :
3/4 C Buttermilk
2 C sugar ( 1 regular/1 brown sugar )
2 C pecan halves
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 T Butter
1 teaspoon baking soda
Directions:
You need a 4 quart microwavable container – Mix together buttermilk, sugars, pecans, salt & butter. Microwave on High for a total of 12 minutes but stopping every 4 minutes to stir. Stir in baking soda -and cook on High 1 minutes more. Then you need to beat mixture until thick & creamy (2-3 minutes) Drop onto wax paper to cool & harden .
- If they break up save them for topping ice cram
