Christmas in July * Eggnog Recipe

Today I start my Christmas in July fun! 

You might say No too early but it’s never too early to plan ahead, I am sharing some family recipes & stories ,Books and more to get you in the Holiday mood. And yes -its in the 90’s today in South Louisiana.

 

My Dad has a very big close family on Christmas Eve the family gets together and Drinks Eggnog  & share family time. Until everyone is ready to go home and get ready for Santa.

 

Up first  My Dad family Eggnog:

• 1 quart milk
• 5 egg yolks
• 1/3 C sugar
• 1/4 t  salt
• 3 Egg whites
• 3 T Sugar
• 1/2 C Bourbon ( or more)
• Grated Nutmeg for topping Eggnog

Scald milk. Beat egg yolks with 1/2 C sugar ,add salt & milk. Return to Heat & let thicken.

Beat egg whites with 3 T sugar  until fluffy. Blend in  with hot milk. Add bourbon. Garnish with Nutmeg . Lisa
