
To go with our fried Turkey we must have some sides. There is so many to chose from that’s family favorites so here’s my favorites Corn Bread Dressing and Holiday Sweet Potatoes Casserole. And Come back next Thursday because it will be time for Desserts . Lisa

Corn Bread Dressing ( Not Stuffing)
- 5 C cornbread
- 6 slices of bread/toasted (soaked in water/wronged dry)
- 2 C celery chopped
- 11 C onion chopped
- 1/2 C Green onions chopped
- 1/2 C minced parsley
- 4 T Butter
- 4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Gizzards
In real Cajun dressing you will find gizzards cooked in water -until tender save water (for later) and mince gizzards fine, . But you can substitute cooked ground meat if you rather. Also if you live in the area local grocery stores carry dressing mix just add cornbread ,seasoning and stock.
Saute celery,onions in butter and Add crumble corn bread and bread Mix well then Add gizzards and parsley to mixture and Add saved water from gizzards as needed to make moist. .Place in greased baking dish and bake about 30 minutes or until hot.

Holiday Sweet Potato Casserole :
- 3 C can sweet potatoes
- 1 c sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 C milk
- 1 stick Butter
- 2 T flour
- 1 tsp salt &pepper
- 1 tsp vanilla
Mix together and place in greased casserole dish .
Topping:
- 1 C brown sugar
- 1/2 C flour
- 1/2 stick melted butter
- 1 C pecans
Mix together and place on top. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes .
