My craft table * Mardi Gras

Memories of Mardi Gras past :

As a small child my parents took me to the parades with family in New Orleans ( Uptown) and Lafayette. Our favorite spot in Lafayette is at the corner at Borden’s ice cream store. Which is still there on the parade route. As a college student -I did Mardi Gras with friends in New Orleans -later when I moved back to Louisiana I took my family to Mardi Gras in Lafayette. Today I share some pass project and memories inspired by both these cities. Lisa

Mixed Media Project : House

The chip board house is inspired by the New Orleans and song. House of the Rising Sun .

There is a house in New Orleans
They call the Rising Sun
And it’s been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God I know I’m one

Handmade cards:

I made these in 2018 celebrating Mardi Gras for a friend. The touch of black background is inspired by the black metal fences in Upton New Orleans that surrounds the hoses on the parade route.

My scrapbook pages :

These digital pages are filled with all things Mardi Gras. These parade pictures are from the Lafayette Parade. Lisa
