Cinco de Mayo Crafts

Today on my Friday craft table I am making crafts and decorations for Cinco De Mayo !

Cinco de Mayo, (Spanish: “Fifth of May”), also called Anniversary of the Battle of Puebla, holiday celebrated in parts of Mexico and the United States in honour of a military victory in 1862 over the French forces of Napoleon III.

Re purpose Plastic Easter Eggs to shakers :

I know you have them on hand, Feel the eggs with dry beans and cover with tape and a handle and shake away !!!

Paper collage Sombrero :

Cut hat from base paper and fill with scrap paper.

Paper Plate fun:

You know I love a good paper plate crafts from colorful fans, taco shapes to tambourine -use your imagination.

Party ideas :

Activities for Cinco de Mayo parties should be reflective of the culture that you are celebrating as well as fun. From crafts to dancing to celebrating with Mexican music, a Cinco de Mayo party is certainly a highlight on the calendar each spring.

What are 3 typical foods served at Cinco de Mayo? There is something for everyone: Green Pozole with Chicken, Horchata, Guacamole, Cemita Poblana, Huevos Rancheros, Mexican Barbacoa, Enchiladas Verdes, Tostadas, Chile Verde Tamales, Fish Tacos, and Flautas are just some of the featured dishes!

Look for Tuesday ( May 5th) for more fun idea’s …… Lisa
