On our Lent menu * Crabs

This Friday I am sharing a Lent recipe for Crabs. Crabs are generally in season from April until November in Louisiana but Gulf crabs are found year round.. But you can find crab meat year round in stores.

Crab Meat Au Gratin

  • 3 T butter
  • 3 T flour
  • salt & pepper
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1 1/2 C thin cream
  • 1/2 C grated cheese
  • 1 T Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 C crab meat -cleaned/flaked
  • 2 T dry sherry
  • 1/2 C corn flakes

Melt butter add flour salt,pepper and paprika. Blend in cream and stir till smooth. Add in cheese ,Worcestershire sauce and crab meat and stir until cheese melt. Add Sherry -stir. And pour into 4 buttered ramakins top with con flakes and Bake for 15 to 20 minutes at 400.
