What is the main theme of Colossians?The main theme of Colossians is to provide the early Christians with substantial evidence of Jesus’ divinity.
What does the book of Colossians teach us?The Epistle to the Colossians declares Christ’s supremacy over the entire created universe and exhorts Christians to lead godly lives.
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving” (Colossians 3:23-24)
This perspective changes everything! This means there is purpose in whatever station in life we are called. It is amazing to know that when we work hard for our earthly bosses, we are actually working hard for Christ. Our work assigns value and if we keep focused on the truth that we are working for the Lord then even menial tasks seem important. Knowing this should give us fresh perspective each and every day to serve wholeheartedly.

- Work without comparisons.
- Work to hear “well done.”
- Work with thankfulness.
