Roast & Gravy * a family classic
My Thursday food post- Is a family classic.
Slow cooked beef roast & gravy served over rice -with a side of broccoli.
My roast was browned and then cooked in a slow cooker for 8 hours, with natural juices,chicken stock and roux to make a tasty gravy. Ours is always served over Rice but you could do Noodles.
Today’s side is Broccoli
Try my Mom’s Broccoli Casserole-
3 (10 0z) pkg of frozen broccoli
1/4 chopped onion
1 can condensed mushroom soap
8 oz Cheddar cheese (chopped)
1 cup mayonnaise
Mix wet ingredients together,add seasoning to taste. Mix in broccoli. Place in greased baking dish and bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees. If you would like too -you can sprinkle bread crumbs on top for crunch ,
