2019 the theme is Tolkien and the Mysterious. https://www.facebook.com/events/2210567592492079
Tolkien Reading Day is held on the 25th of March each year. It has been organised by the Tolkien Society since 2003 to encourage fans to celebrate and promote the life and works of J.R.R. … We particularly encourage schools, museums and libraries to host their own Tolkien Reading Day events.

J.R.R. Tolkien, who was born in South Africa in 1892 and eventually moved to England, became one of the most distinguished Oxford University professors. Teaching Anglo-Saxon studies then English language and literature, Tolkien began writing stories using elements of Celtic, Nordic and English folklore. His fanciful descriptions and stubborn determination to preserve his creative nuances in his writings has given Tolkien a fan base that is as dedicated to his writing purity as he was during his lifetime. Tolkien’s most popular book, The Lord of the Rings took about 13 years to complete.
I really should reread all my Tolkien books again or in fact start reading at least The Hobbit for my son as he is starting to be old enough for this kind of story 🙂
