Kansas City styled BBQ wings

My hubby is the grill master at our house but lately with all the rain we took it inside. Perfect for your Super Bowl party….

Kansas City style barbecue is ruled by the sauce – you’ll experience a sweet and thick sauce that is usually made up with tomato and molasses base

  • 20 chicken wings
  • 3 tbsp melted butter
  • 3 cups ketchup
  • 3 cloves garlic , minced
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Cut the wings into three pieces: drummette, middle portion and tip. Mix the rest of ingredients to make the marinade for wings. Take out 1/2 C for basting wings/ With the rest in a bag – place chicken inside and refrigerate for a couple of hours. When ready to bake – have a cookie sheet with rack on top sprayed ready and place marinated wing on top. Bake for 375 for 30 minutes -and turn brush with saved marinated and bake for another 30 minutes.

Kansas City barbecue is characterized by its use of a wide variety of meats: pork, beef, chicken, turkey, lamb, sausage, and sometimes even fish. … Kansas City barbecue is also known for its many side dishes, including a unique style of baked beans, French fries, coleslaw, and other Southern-food staples.

  1. Oooo this sauce sounds so nice. It’s similar to one that one of my mum’s friends used to do but we didn’t use a couple of the ingredients in it. It makes me want sticky wings or ribs now 😆
