Gifts of the Heart

Happy Valentine ! On my Craft table I have a few quick gifts to share with you :

Heart Hand Lotion Recipe :

The bees wax will keep them solid until they melt from the heat of your hands. Lisa

1/3 Cup Coconut oil
1/3 Cup Cocoa butter or Shea Butter (flexible, use a combo of whatever you’d like)
1/3 Cup  Beeswax

Instructions:
1.
Fill a sauce pan with a few inches of water. Place a glass jar (I use an old mason jar) in the center of the water. Bring water around the jar to a gentle boil.
2. Add all ingredients to jar and stir to combine (I do this with a chopstick, or popsicle stick).
3. Pour melted lotion into heart molds.
4. Set aside and allow to cool (I typically put it in the fridge to cool faster!)

This is a basic recipe change it up and add what oils or flavors you want.

I make baskets of goods of soap, lotion and homemade goodies for family and friends. Think Valentine, birthday ,baby shower and more…

From my Garden :

With South Louisiana Mild climates I am lucky that I can grow almost year round. But during the peak blooming season I pick and dry things I will need at a later time. The easiest way is with my dehydrate.

Herbs, Lavender , Rosemary and Roses.

Dehydrator drying is a fast and easy way to dry high quality herbs because temperature and air circulation can be controlled. … After rinsing under cool, running water and shaking to remove excess moisture, place the herbs in a single layer on dehydrator trays. Drying times may vary from 1 to 4 hours

Craft Tips :

Need supplies fast : I live in a very small town and find unique ways to source goods locally – farmers market & family and friends that garden are options. Dandelions are free and make great salve .

Need lotion supplies : Local Dollar General store : Carry Coconut oil (grocery) , Cocoa butter , Shea butter and more in health and beauty section.

I also keep a basic supply of hard to source product in mt craft cabinet.
